Tesla's driving assistance is known as Autopilot.

It is an advanced driver assistance system that uses a combination of sensors, cameras and software to assist the driver when driving.

It is important to note that the Autopilot System is not completely autonomous and always requires the driver's attention. The system is designed to assist the driver, but NOT to replace it.

Autopilot SOFTWARE:

The Autopilot System is divided into several functions that are available according to the software version, for example:

  • Lane centering.
  • Traffic-aware or adaptive cruise control.
  • Automatic lane changes.
  • Semi-autonomous navigation on limited access highways.
  • Automatic parking.
  • Ability to call the car from a garage or place.

One of the most common problems is the misunderstanding on behalf of drivers about the actual capacity of the system.

Many drivers assume that the system is completely autonomous and does not require supervision, which is not true. Tesla has made it clear that the Autopilot System is a Driver Assistance System, and drivers must keep their hands on the wheel and be ready to intervene at any time.

Another problem has been accidents involving the Autopilot-equipped Tesla vehicles.

In some cases, drivers may have relied too much on the system and have not been paying attention to the road, resulting in accidents.

There have also been reports of system malfunctions, although these cases are much less common.

Tesla is a leading innovation and technology company. It is very important that drivers of Tesla vehicles know how to correctly operate the AUTOPILOT and the advanced systems that Tesla vehicles incorporate.

Autopilot HARDWARE:

The AP - Autopilot System may have technical problems related to the Hardware.

When the system has problems, it deactivates and various alerts inform the driver about the type of problem detected.

SERVICES offered:

1.- Training in the operation and driving of Tesla vehicles (M3, MY, MX and MS):

We offer special training to correctly operate Autopilot and the vehicle in general.
This is very important to prevent accidents. The central screen tends to distract drivers and Autopilot - if operated correctly - helps to avoid collisions.
This training will allow you to learn all the functions available on the screen (or user's interface) in Tesla vehicles. An adequate configuration of the different options in the Autopilot System, as well as its correct use, will help you prevent accidents and reduce the costs of insurance policies.
On the other hand, in this training, important functions related to the Charging System and the correct way to charge the battery are explained, enabling greater durability of this important component, plus making the most of the autonomy & performance of the vehicle.
Knowing how to drive and use a Tesla correctly will also imply a significant decrease in maintenance costs, breakage of expensive electronic parts and a decrease in the services that the vehicle may require.

In summary, knowing how to correctly drive and use a Tesla is important to take full advantage of the safety, efficiency, comfort and innovation features that these vehicles offer.

2.- Solutions to Hardware Problems:

  • Camera wiring failures.
  • Cameras not aligned or with incomplete learning.
  • Radar misaligned or with communication problems.
  • Parking sensor problems.
  • Problems with the EPAS Steering System.
